Icarus is the Polytechnic of Turin Students Research Team for Aerospace activities.

ICARUS PoliTO aim to project and built unmanned airplanes and solid propelled rockets, which main purpose is developing innovative ideas and attending to international competitions, giving it's members the possibility to increase their knowledge while putting them in touch with challenges typical of our engineering field. 🪽On monday we attended an event hosted by SIEMENS at their Milan branch.Big thanks to SIEMENS for having us and for providing software tools that play a key role in our projects.

We also presented our FEM analysis poster, together with many other student teams working on different applications of SIEMENS software. It was an inspiring experience that we shared with the other teams.✈️

🪽Successful FLIGHT TEST! 🛩️
On July 27th, 2025, our latest 1:2 scale RA UAV prototype took to the skies — and it performed awesome.
✅ Structure, aerodynamics, and flight mechanics fully validated
✅ Aircraft is stable, highly efficient, and features low fuel consumption
✅ Successfully completed a fully autonomous flight phase thanks to our onboard controller
✅ Collected a wealth of flight data and confirmed the aircraft’s design configuration

An incredible milestone after months of hard work and dedication.
Now, eyes on the next objective, the big 1:1 plane with 200+ solar panel onboard. We are ready for that 🛫.
