The Colli Berici are hills surrounding the Vicenza Province with an unusual origin story. They were created through a process called bradysism, where ancient volcanic activity, deep beneath the crust, pushed up the seabed to create both rolling hills and steep ridges. The resulting soil is a mixture of limestone and red clay, rich in iron oxide, ideal for making full bodied and unique red wines.
