The first-ever Piaggio Owners and Pilots Association (PAPA) Meetup will take place in Galveston, Texas, from October 8-10, 2026, bringing together P.180 Avanti owners and pilots for a unique gathering dedicated to the Piaggio P.180 community.

The inaugural three-day event will provide P.180 owners and pilots with an opportunity to meet fellow members, exchange experiences and operational knowledge, share ideas, and strengthen connections within a community united by a passion for the P.180 Avanti.

Few might initially think of Alessandro Mazzoni when naming aviation pioneers. Perhaps that is because his modest character kept him out of the spotlight, or because the significance of the three-lifting-surface concept he pioneered is still not fully understood. Today, we commemorate the 95th anniversary of Mazzoni’s birth, a year that also marks the 40th anniversary of the aircraft that became the defining expression of his vision: the P.180.
