FIMER India and L&T Semiconductor Technologies Join Hands to Advance Power Electronics for Next-generation Renewable Energy systems.

SEMICON India 2026 marked a significant milestone in India’s semiconductor journey, with a series of strategic collaborations aimed at strengthening the country’s capabilities across the semiconductor and electronics value chain.

Among the key announcements was the collaboration between L&T Semiconductor Technologies Ltd. (LTSCT) and FIMER India Pvt. Ltd. for the development of Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs) for renewable energy systems.

The partnership brings together LTSCT’s semiconductor technology capabilities and FIMER’s expertise in power electronics and renewable energy solutions, with the objective of advancing indigenous technology for high-performance power conversion applications.

The announcement was made in the presence of Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Electronics & Information Technology; Shri Jitin Prasada, Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry and Electronics & Information Technology; Shri S. Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY; Shri Amitesh Kumar Sinha, Additional Secretary, MeitY & CEO, India Semiconductor Mission; and Shri Sushil Pal, Joint Secretary, Electronics, MeitY.

FIMER India was represented by Xavier Scaria, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), FIMER India, at the occasion.

The collaboration underscores the growing convergence between semiconductor innovation and the energy transition, while supporting the development of critical power-electronics technologies in India.
