Morning guys, hope you all had a good bank holiday weekend! I've been doing some bits and pieces in the bay this week, but still waiting on my fin plugs to come down. They are due to arrive today so once they do, I'll be cracking on and hopefully showing you some test boards very soon! 🤙🏻

Look what arrived today!! These are my logos ready to go on my boards! Screen printed on rice paper, they go on just before the fibreglass, adding that Mizzen touch to the final product! I am so happy with how these turned out and can't wait to get them on my shaped boards which are sitting waiting for them! Not long now until I can finally share my creations with you guys! I'm thinking about doing stickers next, what do you guys think? 🤙🏻

Today's tasks have consisted of: marking out fin locations, routering out plug box slots, selecting angle plugs and resining in boxes. Glad to say I've completed all of those, now on to the glassing once my logos arrive! 🤙🏻

This right here is the most satisfying part of the process. Turning a chunk of foam into your vision is one of the most satisfying things imaginable! This may seem like the main bulk of work is done but it's far from it! This baby still has to go to the glassing room to have it's glass coat, hot coat and a good old sand. Only once this is all done can a board then get to where it belongs, the water! 🤙🏻

Hey there! Welcome to Mizzen Surf Craft. My name is Jake, the face behind the brand. I was born here in Jersey, Channel Islands and grew up in the heart of St Ouens Bay, where I now create my boards!

My shaping journey started with an old, half shaped, Clark foam blank, which I managed to butcher into a 5'5" fish (if you could even call it a fish!) Since then I have refined my skills and am currently in the process of creating a range of surfboards fit for all types of surfers.
