Any advice very welcome from Jersey based techie friends - I'm having difficulty with 2-step verification for work related google accounts. Error message: "There was a problem sending you a verification code"

I've got the back up codes so it's not a disaster but anyone know if this is a google issue (not recognising Jersey numbers)? Or if there is a work around?

Price Increase:
On April 2nd 2024 we increased our prices in line with inflation. We pride ourselves on doing a professional job at an affordable rate and we have not taken this decision lightly. However all of our costs have gone up in the last 3 years - since we raised our prices last time - and we have had no option but to pass on some of those costs. We apply a simple charge for your repair. A one-fee-fix means no multiple call out fees. Your charge will typically be either £89.50 or £129.50 – depending on the size of the job – plus the cost of any parts if the parts are not under guarantee.

Conversation with caller this afternoon:
'Have you got a belt for a tumble dryer?'
Possibly - do you have the model number?
'No - it's a Hotpoint'
There are many different models and we'd need the model number to make sure you get the right one - are you planning on fitting it yourself?
'Yes'
Have you done one before - it's notoriously difficult.
'It is not - I've googled it and seen it on youtube!'
What I said: Sorry - best buying it online I think.
What I wanted to say: I've seen people juggle chainsaws on youtube - not sure I'd trust myself to do it.

Are you thinking of buying a heat pump dryer? Do be aware though that a heat pump dryer, though energy efficient, will typically take a lot longer to dry your clothes than a vented or condenser dryer. And importantly will only operate at 20 degrees above the ambient temperature (the temperature of the room it's in) - so it won't be any use if you're planning on sticking it in the garage this winter.
