Single use plastic! The pictures below shows a cropped potato field, grown under forcing potato plastic. The plastic main sheet was removed to be “reused” next season sadly leaving, what could be classified as” single use plastic in the soil. A quick walk over this field resulted in nearly a 90lt bin full of plastic just from this season! I know it’s this season as the last 3years I have collected the same amount each year.

Poor land management?

Ban potato plastic?

Introduce a soil contamination law and inspection?
