Despite all the comments on various different pages JDRS will continue to provide the Conflict Management training and will be able to help you through the process of getting your new badge.

Effectively you will need a Basic Disclosure, First Aid certificate and Conflict Management Training, then you apply for the badge, which will be issued by Home Affairs.

IF YOU have a First Aid certificate as a result of your employment then you do not have to get another one.

Message me if you want details of the next course.

Many of you will read in today's JEP that the administration of the JDRS will be taken over, with effect from the 1st March 2022, by the Justice and Home Affairs Department, who will be responsible for issuing the badges moving forward from that date and for setting the conditions.

Whilst the final details are still to be ironed out, the badge will still be for 2 years. Initially I had concerns that the training locally had not been taken into proper account with too many references to accreditation from UK private companies, those concerns have been addressed and given the fact that myself, Stuart and Topo received trainer training from the only local accredited trainer then we can continue to provide training.

If you are due to renew before the 1st March then get in early as the new system will be cumbersome to start with.

There is likely to be an increase in the Police presence in the run up to Christmas so it is important that you have update to date, in date badges just in case they check.
