Integral Coaching with me in 2024? An opportunity to make bold choices and reset towards a more gentle, authentic, creative and compassionate future.

I look forward to hearing from you….

Tate and his hideous videos are watched and spoken about by our youngsters. My three teenagers debating and sharing them with me in their horror and curiosity. Dr Jessica Taylor addresses the macro issue here that is the Patriarchal and misogynistic design of our society - more important to address than one individual acting out.

I address this issue with all my clients and challenge myself daily. How does it affect our lives, our vision of ourselves and others? Both men and women suffer.

Keep waking up

Not only are these words true theatre, they also act as sound advice ❤️

my brain and
heart divorced

a decade ago

over who was
to blame about
how big of a mess
I have become

eventually,
they couldn't be
in the same room
with each other

now my head and heart
share custody of me

I stay with my brain
during the week

and my heart
gets me on weekends

they never speak to one another

- instead, they give me
the same note to pass
to each other every week

and their notes they
send to one another always
says the same thing:

"This is all your fault"

on Sundays
my heart complains
about how my
head has let me down
in the past

and on Wednesday
my head lists all
of the times my
heart has screwed
things up for me
in the future

they blame each
other for the
state of my life

there's been a lot
of yelling - and crying

so,

lately, I've been
spending a lot of
time with my gut

who serves as my
unofficial therapist

most nights, I sneak out of the
window in my ribcage

and slide down my spine
and collapse on my
gut's plush leather chair
that's always open for me

~ and I just sit sit sit sit
until the sun comes up

last evening,
my gut asked me
if I was having a hard
time being caught
between my heart
and my head

I nodded

I said I didn't know
if I could live with
either of them anymore

"my heart is always sad about
something that happened yesterday
while my head is always worried
about something that may happen tomorrow,"
I lamented

my gut squeezed my hand

"I just can't live with
my mistakes of the past
or my anxiety about the future,"
I sighed

my gut smiled and said:

"in that case,
you should
go stay with your
lungs for a while,"

I was confused
- the look on my face gave it away

"if you are exhausted about
your heart's obsession with
the fixed past and your mind's focus
on the uncertain future

your lungs are the perfect place for you

there is no yesterday in your lungs
there is no tomorrow there either

there is only now
there is only inhale
there is only exhale
there is only this moment

there is only breath

and in that breath
you can rest while your
heart and head work
their relationship out."

this morning,
while my brain
was busy reading
tea leaves

and while my
heart was staring
at old photographs

I packed a little
bag and walked
to the door of
my lungs

before I could even knock
she opened the door
with a smile and as
a gust of air embraced me
she said

"what took you so long?"

Bravo Craig and his team - I’ve proudly shared this documentary to many friends and clients.... rich in its messages about healing, relationships, nature.

The South African Netflix documentary, My Octopus Teacher, has won the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature at the 93rd Academy Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles. The 2020 Netflix original by Pippa Ehrlich and James Reed documents a year spent by filmmaker Craig Foster forging a relationship with a wild, common octopus in a South African kelp forest in False Bay, Cape Town. Filmmakers James Reed and Pippa Ehrlich accepted the honour:

“I know there are many South Africans who are awake in the middle of the night to watch this ceremony and in many ways this really is a tiny personal story that played out in a sea forest at the very tip of Africa but on a more universal level I hope that it provided a glimpse of a different types of relationship between human beings and the natural world.”

To the teenage ‘Coronials’ – an Invitation

Schools are closed and Summer exams cancelled or postponed. How does this feel for you guys? I’ve heard some of you are devastated, some elated and some indifferent.

It’s an extraordinary situation, for sure! But, its happening and there may be months ahead filled with endless days at home, no mates, no parties, no travel, no music festivals – nothing normal.

Parents and Governments want to keep the community safe but we also need your generation (The Coronials) to thrive, grow and be happy.

So, my invitation to you all is to please INNOVATE! It’s natural and normal for us all to want to socialise with each other but especially for you teenagers.

Could you perhaps use your energy, resources, online savvy, creativity and sass to create online socialising opportunities that are safe, fun, challenging and more? Can you take care to make them inclusive and respectful places to enjoy each other’s company? Surely, there can be more vital experiences than the run of the mill Instagram and Tik Tok?

The best ideas will come directly from you. Think - they may even form the basis of how the world works in the future. The innovations that happen now WILL be ground breaking and, no doubt paradigm shifts in the years to come. We are witnessing evolution at work, in vivid colour right here, right now. Could you use this time to be a part of the evolution of YOUR world, perhaps?

I believe in you guys and invite you to show us what you can do with the months ahead. Make them count, get curious and creative. Come together in this isolation and above all, have FUN!

Mum of three amazing teenagers!
