Thank you to everyone who has supported our hurricane relief efforts so far. On this trip we chose to focus on Billy’s Bay, Parottee, and Vineyard communities that do not usually receive media attention, are not connected to public figures, and would have been easily overlooked. These are our elders, our farmers, our fishermen, our children and they deserve care too.

We delivered food, water, and medical supplies directly to homes and elders who could not travel. And we will continue ,Trelawny is next, guided by ongoing research so we reach the communities most in need.

We extend special recognition to TIA widely regarded as the heroine of Treasure Beach, for her leadership and continued coordination on the ground. Despite delays and challenging conditions, the team remained committed, ensuring that both elders and children in Billy’s Bay, as well as neighboring communities facing severe water shortages, received immediate support. Additional supplies were entrusted to Tia for distribution to families we personally know are in critical need. Our relief work continued into Parottee and Vineyard, where we made a deliberate decision to support communities that receive little to no media coverage, have no public attention, and are not aligned to any well-known public figures. These are the families that are often the most impacted and the least reached. We are currently conducting research to guide our next trod to Trelawny — the parish known for producing the most yam. This effort is ongoing. The truth is many Jamaicans were living with hardship long before Hurricane Melissa. Rebuilding and sustaining our communities will require consistency, collaboration, and compassion.
