UCC Business Development & Consulting Institute - BDCI The UCC Business Development and Consulting Institute (UCC BDCI) is a key player in the implementation of Jamaica’s economic growth agenda.

UCC Business Development and Consulting Institute (BDCI), is a start-up entity that was organized as an operational unit within the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean, UCC BDCI engages in community outreach and will serve as a bridge that connects the university and the wider private sector community. Through a cooperative agreement with the Jamaica business Development Corporation (JBDC) UC

C BDCI has establish one of several Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) as part of a National Initiative. UCC has also executed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Development Bank of Jamaica (DBJ) to operate as a Business Development Organization (BDO) to deliver services to the Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs).

On June 23, Day 2 of TEN 2026 – The Ecosystem Network Competition brought energy, innovation, and bold ideas to the forefront.

From the Semi-Final Pitch Competition, where entrepreneurial teams presented their business concepts before a panel of judges, to an engaging AI Innovation Panel exploring the future of artificial intelligence in entrepreneurship and business, the day was filled with insight, creativity, and meaningful conversations.

Day 2 was a true reflection of what TEN is all about — creating space for innovation, collaboration, and the next generation of changemakers to shine.

Day 1 of The Ecosystem Network 2026 was all about preparation, learning, and refining ideas.

In a more intimate setting, participants engaged in interactive workshops covering business development, financial planning, marketing, and branding, while receiving valuable guidance to strengthen their ventures.

The teams also spent the day fine-tuning their pitches, receiving feedback, and building confidence as they prepare for the highly anticipated Semi-Final Pitch Competition tomorrow, June 23.

The foundation has been laid, the ideas have been sharpened, and the stage is set for an exciting day ahead.
