Just because a patient nods or stays quiet doesn’t mean they understand you.

Sometimes, they’re too shy to speak up.
Sometimes, they don’t want to sound “foolish.”
Other times… they’re just overwhelmed.

We’ve all had those moments where we explained something — and later realized the patient didn’t get it.
That’s not a failure — unless we keep ignoring it.

🗣 Next time, try this:
“Can you tell me in your own words what you understand so far?”
It sounds simple, but it can save lives.
