Strong partnerships between Eastern Africa and Europe are opening new pathways for education, innovation, research, and workforce development.

From 1–12 June 2026, Dr. Esther Munyiri of Kenyatta University and Country Manager for the Future Leaders Challenge – Eastern Africa (FLC EA), participated in the Second International Staff Week at the University of Girona, joining more than 50 professionals from 35 universities across 15 countries.

Alongside Prof. Jaume Guia, FLP EA International Strategic Board Representative, she showcased key workforce development initiatives, including the 3is Project and the Future Leaders Platform – Eastern Africa (FLP EA), highlighting the importance of connecting education, industry, and emerging talent.

The engagement also created new opportunities for Erasmus+ collaboration, institutional partnerships, academic mobility, innovation, and future skills development between Eastern Africa and Europe.

Through FLP EA, international partnerships continue to translate into meaningful action, connecting global expertise with regional impact and helping to develop the leaders, innovators, and workforce of the future. 🚀

👏🏽 Special appreciation to FLP Founder Hubert Ummels and FLP EA Patron Rebecca Miano for championing this vision.

🌪️ June 1 marks the start of the 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season.

Preparation is the foundation of resilience.

As destinations around the world face increasing climate and disaster risks, the ability to prepare, anticipate, and collaborate has never been more important. Resilience is not built during a crisis. It is built through the actions we take before one occurs.

At GTRCMC, we continue to champion proactive planning, data-driven decision-making, and strong partnerships to help destinations recover faster and emerge stronger.

✅ Prepare
✅ Anticipate
✅ Collaborate
Because the work we do today shapes how we recover tomorrow.
