I created this mosquito during the outbreak of the mosquito-borne Chikungunya Virus of 2014. After contracting the virus myself, I developed this art piece, to reflect the disjointed feeling the inflammation brought on in my bones, not unlike the mosaic-like structure of this Aedes Egypti mosquito. I've added this piece to my Iconism line of abstract art; canvasses will become available for sale in 2023.

Hey Everyone,
Let's start this Tuesday with a lil before and after magic (kindly swipe left).

In my world logos aren't allowed to be related to trends or personal preferences, but should speak the entire language of he brand they represent.

Which means after a rigorous but usually less-than-an-hour Q & A with my clients, logo designs are hashed out in my sketchpad, where I refine them many times over until they reflect the goal of my client's business or personal brand.

It's Mood-board Monday again!
Let's start the week off with this innovative, agricultural/hydroponics brand. This mood-board is for an imaginary hydroponics business concept I worked on some time ago that I hope to share with you all soon.

The challenge was to bond crisp and fresh design with dark and minimal undertones. We'll see if I nailed it when I unveil my attempt in a few weeks.

The story behind this colorful peacock is an 8 year old one. Back in 2014, as a young design intern my greatest desire was to level up and prove my value to the team.

My strategy for doing that was to fill all my free time at work with that most complex tutorials I could get my hands on. With polygonal gradient art trending at the time, I thought I'd give it a try on a lovely peacock.

I sat for several sessions spanning around 5 hours, and painstakingly gradient-filled all the peacock’s triangles individually, only to find out a few weeks later that it could all have been solved with with a simple overlay, by taking significantly less steps.

While I was a bit peeved at the time, looking back now I don’t regret having to do it the long way. Processes, refined by time and steady personal focus are values on which I have built Made By Molli, with a ”No Shortcuts; Only Elegance” approach to all creative work. In a world of convenience and speed, process and mastery still have their place.

A little life lesson from my peacock today is: Take your time when possible, remain present and engross yourself in the process.

Everything is nothing...before humans bestow meaning upon it. Bonnet & Robe is a self-care brand a friend and I are working on. We wanted to use a pair of abstract household comfort items to represent us. On a whim we came up with the name Bonnet and & Robe, and got to work immediately.
