Hatty's Hot Tip 💡
Why do companies confuse graphic design with marketing? 🤔
I've seen it happen: a graphic designer gets hired as a Marketing Manager over a qualified marketing pro, just because they're good at design. 🎨
But design and marketing are not the same! 🚫
A graphic designer communicates visually, while a marketer thinks beyond the visual, asking: Who's our target audience? What problem do we solve? Why should they care? 🤝
Don't get me wrong, design is valuable, but it's only one part of the strategy. 📈
Marketing should come before the artwork. Before design, you need to know your objective, audience, positioning, message, offer, channel, customer journey, and desired action. 📊
So, when hiring, don't just ask if they can design. Ask if they can market! 📈
