RISE Life Management Services

RISE Life Management Services RISE Life Management Services Over the years, through the Organization's work in inner city Kingston, the needs of vulnerable at-risk youth became quite clear.

In October 1990, Addiction Alert Organization (AAO) opened Jamaica's only outpatient treatment centre for addictive disorders with the help of the Private Sector Organziation of Jamaica. The direction and focus of its programmes were therefore reviewed and adjusted to include other interventions that could address some of the issues in these populations. A more inclusive name was therefore needed

and so in 2005, the organization became RISE Life Management Services, RISE being an acronym for "Reaching Individuals through Skills and Education".

Have you seen The Movement lately? ๐Ÿ‘€

RISE Life Management Services, with support from Desnoes and Geddes Red Stripe Corporate through its Drink & Live Responsibly Programme, is taking The Movement into its next phase, building on years of youth-focused prevention work by strengthening the adults who help shape the choices young people make every day.
That means taking the conversation further with parents and guardians, teachers and guidance counsellors

And the approach is evolving too.
Through our Colouring Your Choices resource, guided conversations, interactive activities and our customised Ludi experience, facilitators are creating practical spaces where adults can reflect, talk, learn and take those conversations back into homes and communities.

These past months have already taken us from school-based parent sessions to community engagements across Jamaica and there is much more ahead.

It is another chapter in a partnership that continues to evolve with the work: taking responsible-living messages beyond awareness and putting practical tools for prevention into the hands of the people closest to young people.

Stay with us as The Movement continues. โœจ

July Highlights | Underage Gambling Prevention ๐ŸŽฒ๐Ÿšซ

July was filled with meaningful community engagement and advocacy! We partnered with the Portmore Municipality Youth Council to deliver underage gambling prevention presentations, while also collaborating with the Jamaica Constabulary Force to reach communities such as Rose Garden and Hannah Town, among others and more to come.

Through education, awareness, and community partnerships, we continue to empower young people and their guardians to make informed choices and say NO to underage gambling.๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ

RISE Life Management Services was honoured to be part of a meaningful community outreach initiative in Seaford Town, Westmoreland, alongside the Not in Vain (NIV) Foundation ,title sponsor Windward Aid, and partners Young Women and Men of Purpose ๐Ÿ’™โœจ

Over 500 children across five schools were supported with back-to-school supplies, while parents benefited from parenting sessions and children received access to medical support and psychosocial care.

Beyond providing resources, this initiative created a space of care, hope, and healing โ€” reminding us that true recovery goes beyond supplies. From smiles and laughter to meaningful conversations, the day reflected the power of community coming together.

RISE remains committed to supporting children, families, and communities through holistic support. ๐Ÿ’œ

๐ŸŽ“โœจ SYMBA Closing Ceremony Highlightsโœจ๐ŸŽ“

A day filled with accomplishments, celebration, and proud moments as we recognized the achievements of our SYMBA participants through the presentation of certificates. ๐ŸŒŸ

Our SYMBA Programme Manager Miss Scarlett shared an inspiring update that students leaving the SYMBA After-School Programme are reading 2โ€“3 grade levels above their grade level, highlighting the impact of the programme. ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ‘

Special thanks to our proud SYMBA Ambassador Jerome Cowans, our very own Keisha Harrison for her beautiful song performance, representative from HRMAJ for providing mentorship for the boys while the girls benefit from sessions occasionally, and the Project Coordinator from the Seprod Foundation, Mr Shawn McGregor and our practicum student Aunty Kamara for being part of this special occasion.

Celebrating growth, success, and the bright futures ahead! ๐Ÿ’™โœจ

June Photo Dump ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ’•

June was filled with meaningful moments as we continued spreading awareness about underage gambling.

One of the highlights was a powerful DUP poem by our counsellor, Ms. Becford at Gregory Park Primary, on the importance of saying โ€œNo.โ€ Through engaging discussions and interactive activities, students were encouraged to make positive choices, resist peer pressure, and understand the importance of protecting their future.

Together, weโ€™re helping to educate, empower, and protect our youth-one conversation, one school, and one community at a time. ๐Ÿ’™
