One month and a couple days without electricity and internet. The electricity and internet were restored over the weekend. I wasn't gravely affected but affected nonetheless, business, work and schooling for both my child and I. But we coped nonetheless and gave a helping hand where we could despite our own disruptions.

But it pains my heart to see the massive destruction many of our fellow Jamaicans are facing. So I'm urging that while we're doing what is needed for ourselves and our families, that we be kind, lend a helping hand and support each other while we rebuild.

Circling back to my last post about taking a step back one of my biggest takeaways was this; being an entrepreneur made me a more valuable employee.

In most jobs, qualifications and experience are the golden tickets. But sometimes, even when you have both, the door still feels hard to open. What I’ve learned from building my business, working inside my clients’ businesses, and adding new qualifications (even in small ways) gave me real, hands-on added experience that set me apart.

It has even changed how I show up in an interview. A direct result of me having to learn to show up in meetings with clients or potential clients. Imagine applying for a job that asks for a completed BSc in Business Administration, mine’s still in progress, but being able to confidently explain and sell the experience I’ve gained as an entrepreneur? That’s powerful isn't it.

Betting on yourself builds confidence, credibility, and opens doors you might never have considered or tried. Sometimes, creating your own table is exactly what leads you to new ones. ✨

💗 Wearing pink today in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. This isn’t just about a color for me it’s personal. During my time working as a full-time nurse, I had the honor of caring for both women and men affected by this. Some fought and won, some are still fighting, and some we had to say goodbye to.

Today, I stand in honor of every story. For the warriors who won, those still in the fight, and the loved ones we’ve lost we pray strength, healing, and comfort always. 💕

Last year 2024 I started to implement changes slowly, in stages. And just like with anything else things happen whether you do or don't do. Some made me doubtful and discouraged but I pushed through. But I felt stuck and wanted to give up completely.

But giving up is never my final stop so I said let's slow down and take a step back. Still doing client work but taking a step back.

Then why taking a step back an opportunity came across my path. Which saw me being a Sales representative for a local skincare company covering up to at least a little more than half the island at one point. I was literally trravelling from Mandeville to as far as Falmouth, Hanover, St. Ann and more alone. And mind i say I'm not the fastest driver but not the slowest, lol.

It was pretty much what I do in my business manage existing clients and establish new ones. It was great and I did that until late this year until I moved on to another opportunity.

It allowed me time while still operating my business o the go,to not feel stuck and it made me more grateful for not giving up but just slowing down.

Can you also tell I needed up being in the sun alot too 🤣.
