Today's Word of Wisdom from Elizabeth:
ONLY THE BEST IS GOOD ENOUGH

Never be afraid of the word "perfection". There is nothing wrong in making "the best" our goal... if we aim for the highest height and we don't attain it, we may not fall too far below and we can live with the satisfaction of knowing we tried our best. That is what excellence is all about - doing the best with what we have, what we can do, what we know and who we are... even if the end result is not perfect!
I used to squirm with discomfort when others would make comments that spoke of me trying to be a perfectionist... obviously not intended to be a compliment. I would respond in denial, but, I finally got past that, I settled it in my head, then my heart, what if they thought I was a perfectionist - that is my goal, and what is wrong with that?!
If we allow others to scare us into fearing that goal of perfection, we are most likely settling for mediocrity. If we become content in that place, it is a certain path to a rapid decline.
Every day I raise the bar and challenge myself towards perfection... do you?
Who knows, if we keep trying, we may just hit that mark of perfection one day, but fear of failing, keeps us from trying and will guarantee that we won't.

So, I would edit Vince Lombardi's quote to read: "Perfection may be difficult to attain, but if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence" :-)
