We all know that insurance is important because it gives us the peace of mind we all need.

But… when an advisor tries to sell you insurance, your first response is probably “ Nope… I have enough! I don’t need any more insurance!”😱

I know… When somebody tries to sell me something, I have that common reaction too. But have you ever asked yourself, why buy insurance especially in December?

Here are some reasons for you to buy insurance in December this year:

❤𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐬 - let's be honest. The first thing you probably do when you receive your bonus is spending them away right? Why not convert some of these bonus into a policy that gives you and your family a peace of mind? It's the best time to plan for 2020.

❤𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟎 - whenever your liabilities increases , for example you intend to buy a new house in 2020, you need to purchase some term insurance to cover the loan in case something happens to you. This protects your loved one from unintended liabilities in the future.

❤𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 - December is probably the time where you are expecting your promotion. If that is the case, congratulations. This also means if your income increased in December, the amount of life protection you require will increase as well. Have a conversation with your advisor to find out more.

- You need a portfolio that is aggressive in places, defensive in others, cautious elsewhere. It needs to adapt to the ever-changing market conditions.⠀

- Despite your best expectation for your investments, there will be periods when some of them will lose money. When that occurs, you need other investments to offset the decline. Diversification ensures that by not "putting all your eggs in one basket".⠀

Sagicor Foundation has disbursed more than $13 million in scholarships and grants to 100 secondary- and tertiary-level students; the largest in its history.

At a ceremony at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel in Kingston, the foundation awarded children of Sagicor clients and team members, Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) employees, as well as the 2019 Parish Champions from the Jamaica Teachers' Association (JTA)/Sagicor National Athletics Championship with scholarships to help with offsetting back-to-school expenses as they prepare for the new school year.
