【Open Call for Saison Artist in Residence Visiting Fellows 2026】

The open calls for Saison Artist in Residence Visiting Fellow, which supports creative research for international contemporary theater and dance artist, has been announced.

Saison Artist in Residence Visiting Fellow aims to build up an international network for contemporary performing arts and to enhance mutual understanding, and gives opportunities for international artists and arts managers to research the contemporary performing arts scene in Japan. The program supports research visits to Japan for those who are expected to play an important role in the international performing arts scene.

Saison Artist in Residence Visiting Fellow offers the following support:
– Research Residency for Artists
– Research Residency for Arts Managers

Residency period: December 4 until December 23, 2026 and January 8 to March 31, 2027.

Grant: one round-trip Economy-class ticket and/or living expenses (5,000 yen per day) and/or research & activities costs (up to 5,000 yen per day), with the total upper limit, 500,000 yen for each artist and arts manager as applicants who meet the requirements outlined in the application guidelines

Residents: one international artist and two individual international arts managers will be selected for Visiting Fellows 2026

セゾン・アーティスト・イン・レジデンス、ヴィジティング・フェローを募集しています。

本リサーチ・プログラムは、現代演劇・舞踊の海外ネットワークの拡大、相互理解の促進を目的に、日本の現代演劇、舞踊の状況や背景、魅力等の研究を支援するプログラム。重要な役割を担うことが期待される海外のアーティスト、アーツ・マネージャーに、森下スタジオを拠点とする滞在機会を提供します。

アーティストのためのリサーチ・レジデンシー
日本の文化や芸術をテーマにした創作や、日本との継続的な協働事業を構想するアーティストを対象に、日本でのリサーチ、将来のパートナーとの出会いや対話の機会を提供。現代演劇や舞踊分野で活動する芸術家の創作プロセスを重視する。

アーツ・マネージャーのためのリサーチ・レジデンシー
将来、日本との継続的な交流事業を構想するアーツ・マネージャーを対象に、日本の現代演劇や舞踊をリサーチする機会、ネットワーク拡大のために芸術家や関係者との出会いや対話の機会を提供する。

対象期間：2026年12月4日〜12月23日、2027年1月8日〜3月31日

助成内容：募集要項に定める要件を満たすアーティスト1名およびアーツ・マネージャー2名につき、50万円を上限として、エコノミークラス往復航空券、滞在費（1日あたり5,000円）、活動費（1日あたり5,000円）を支援。

募集人数：アーティスト1名、アーツ・マネージャー2名
