あたたかくなって、GROVING BASEの植物も葉っぱが出てきました。
毎年、冬になると葉が落ち、
春になると新しい葉が出て、
夏になるとすぐに水がなくなるので枯らさないよう手をかけ、
秋になると紅葉し、また冬に葉が落ちる。
もう7年程繰り返していますが、
オフィスにいながら、季節が感じられるのは悪くないなと思います。
館内の植物のほとんどは本物の植物。
植物は、ただ、そこにあるだけです。
毎日見ていると気づかないけど、
ある時、すごく成長していることに気づきます。
GROVING BASEで働く私達も、そうでありたいですね。
「GROVING」は、
名詞であるGROVE（木立）を、動詞の現在分詞変化させた造語。
私達のような小さな木々が集まり、活き活きと成長する様子を表現した言葉です。
また、裏の意味には
「GROw fiVE thINGs」の略語。
５つの物事を育てる。という意味があります。
GROVING BASEには、
あまり前に出していない想いやストーリーが、たくさんあります。
また少しずつ発信していきますね。
As it warms up, the plants at GROVING BASE are starting to sprout leaves again.
Every year, the leaves fall off in winter, sprout anew in spring, require careful watering to prevent wilting in the quickly drying summer, and turn beautiful colors in autumn before the leaves fall off again in winter.
This cycle has been repeating for about seven years now, and I think it's not too bad being able to feel the seasons even while at the office.
Most of the plants inside the building are real. Plants just exist there. You may not notice them every day, but sometimes you realize how much they have grown. We, the people working at GROVING BASE, hope to be the same.
The term "GROVING" is a neologism, transforming the noun GROVE (a small group of trees) into a present participle verb, expressing the vibrant growth of a group of small trees like us.
Additionally, it has a hidden meaning as an acronym for "GROw fiVE thINGs" – nurturing five things.
GROVING BASE has many unspoken thoughts and stories.
We'll continue to share them bit by bit.
