アロハ桜保存会　"Aloha Sakura Preservation Society"

On April 15th at 7 PM (Japan time), an episode about the Aloha Cherry Blossoms of Maizuru will be broadcast on the Fuji TV network's program "Miracle Experience Unbelievable."

Details of the program are unknown.
The preservation society cooperated in the production of the program.
Please watch it if you can.
It seems that the program will also be available on the website after the broadcast.

4月15日　午後19時（場所によっては20時）フジテレビ系列で放送されます「奇跡体験アンビリバボー」で、アロハ桜に関するエピソードが放映される予定となりました。
詳細な内容はわかりませんが、アロハ桜保存会も取材に協力いたしました。
是非、ご覧になっていただけると嬉しく思います。

The Aloha Sakura Preservation Society cooperated with amateur photographer Toshikazu Hayashi to hold a photo exhibition in Maizuru.
Although the exhibition was only two days long, many people visited and were able to learn new things about the Aloha Sakura.
We are grateful for everyone's cooperation.

The cherry blossoms at Kyoraku Park have bloomed beautifully again this year.
Both the new Aloha Sakura and the original Aloha Sakura are doing well.

アロハ桜保存会は、アマチュア写真家、林敏和氏に協力し舞鶴での写真展を開催致しました。
たった２日間の写真展でしたが、多くの方に訪れていただき、また新たにアロハ桜の物語を知って頂く事ができました。
皆様のご協力に感謝いたします。

共楽公園では、今年も綺麗に桜が咲きました。
新しいアロハ桜、オリジナルのアロハ桜共に元気です。

Kyoraku Park, Maizuru, Kyoto.
The new Aloha Sakura has bloomed beautifully again this year.
And the original Aloha Sakura planted by Japanese American soldiers of the MIS stationed in Japan is also growing buds. It will bloom in a few days. Thank you very much.

February 23 & 24, 2024

We carried out replanting of the new "Aloha Sakura" trees that were planted in 2018.

It has been about 6 years since I planted the seedlings.
The cherry blossoms have grown big and healthy, but their current location is too small, so they were replanted in a larger space so they can grow even bigger.

The replanting work was carried out by Nakamura's landscape gardener, who has been helping us since the time of the tree planting, BCo/100Bn, a group that conducts reenactment for Japanese American soldiers, and other collaborators.

Unfortunately, it rained on the first day, but on the second day the weather was nice and we were able to work comfortably.

For lunch, I ate ``Spam-Musubi (rice balls)'' and cabbage and onion bouillon soup.

The work was completed successfully.
Small buds are already forming on the branches.
And the original ``Aloha-Sakura'' also had small buds.
In spring, beautiful cherry blossoms will bloom.

I would like to have a "Hanami-party" in April.

2024年2月23&24日
2018年に植樹した、新しい「アロハ-Sakura」の植替え作業を実施しました。
苗木を植えて約６年。
大きく元気に育った桜は、今の場所では狭いので、より大きく育るように広い所に植替えました。

植替えの作業は、植樹の時からお世話になっている中村造園さんと、日系アメリカ人兵士のReenactmentを行っているグループ「BCo/100Bn」、その他協力者によって実施しました。

初日はあいにくの雨でしたが、２日目は天気もよく気持ちよく作業ができました。

お昼ご飯には「スパム-Musubi（おにぎり）」と、きゃべつとタマネギのブイヨンスープを食べました。

無事に作業は終わりました。
もう、小さな蕾が枝に出来ています。
そして、オリジナルの「アロハ-Sakura」もまた、小さな蕾をつけていました。
春には綺麗な桜の花を咲かせる事でしょう。

４月には「Hanami-party」をしたいと思います。

The effects of COVID-19 are still ongoing.
Let's work with you to overcome this.
The other day, the Aloha Sakura was cleaned cleanly. The original cherry blossoms are working hard this year to make the buds bigger. It will bloom soon. The planted "youkou" has already bloomed. Unfortunately, "Hanami" cannot be done this year either.

This year's Maizuru has a lot of snow.
The snow that fell at the end of the year finally began to melt, so I came to Aloha Sakura.
The original cherry tree is sprouting small this year as well.
I'm sure it will bloom nice flowers in spring.

I hope to do "hanami" this year.

I pray for a world without COVID-19.

今年の舞鶴は、雪が多いですね。
年末に降った雪がようやく溶け始めたので、アロハ桜にやってきました。
オリジナルの桜の木は、今年も小さく芽吹いています。
きっと春には素敵な花を咲かせるでしょう。

今年は花見ができると嬉しいです。
