You do not need to code to lead in the age of AI.
But you do need to understand where AI can add value, where human judgment is essential, and who remains accountable when something goes wrong.
Being an AI-ready executive is not about knowing every tool. It is about asking better questions:
✅ What business problem are we solving?
✅ Is the data secure and appropriate to use?
✅ How will we check the accuracy of the output?
✅ Where is human review required?
✅ Who owns the final decision?
✅ How will we measure the results?
“Use more AI” is not a strategy.
Strong leaders connect AI to a clear business need. They redesign workflows, establish sensible safeguards, prepare their teams for change, and measure whether the technology is genuinely improving the business.
AI can help organise information, accelerate research, analyse data, and prepare first drafts. However, it cannot take responsibility for the outcome.

The most effective executives will not necessarily be the most technical. They will be the ones with the judgment to choose the right problems, manage the risks, develop their teams, and remain accountable.
You do not need to become a programmer.
You need to know how to lead.
