14 rooms playing optical cartridges at HIGH END Vienna 2026!

DS Audio cartridges from DS-E3 to Grand Master Extreme will appear in 13 rooms across the show — with a 14th featuring Reed Acoustics' own optical cartridge in the ZELLATON room.
Five new optical-compatible phono stages making their debut: Phasemation EA-1500, ENGSTRÖM M-OPTIC, Aavik R-x88 series, ThivanLabs ULTIMATE 300, and Wattson Audio Madison Phono.

At HIGH END 2026 Vienna,Wattson Audio— sister brand of CH Precision — will premiere its new phono stage, the Madison Phono.
Developed and built entirely in-house in collaboration with CH Precision, the Madison Phono can be configured for three distinct input architectures — and one of them is a dedicated optical input for DS Audio and other optical cartridges. It also features multiple EQ curves processed in the digital domain, advanced cartridge loading, and digital output for high-performance DACs such as the Madison Streamer.
At the show, Wattson will demonstrate the Madison Phono using both traditional moving-coil cartridges and optical phono transducers.
Every new high-end component that supports an optical input is further proof that the optical cartridge format we have championed continues to grow. We warmly welcome Wattson Audio's commitment to optical playback, and we're proud to see the optical ecosystem expand with such an accomplished partner.

Engström introduces M-OPTIC — a dedicated equalizer for optical cartridges.
Engström, the renowned Swedish high-end amplifier manufacturer, has announced M-OPTIC, a phono equalizer developed exclusively for optical cartridges. It makes its world debut at HIGH END Vienna, June 4–7, 2026.
Built on Engström's uncompromising approach to analogue signal purity, M-OPTIC converts the photodiode's current signal to voltage gain through a specially specified Lundahl transformer — achieving precise phase alignment between channels while applying equalisation optimised for the optical cartridge's playback principle. The signal path runs through parallel-coupled 6922 tubes and a dedicated equalisation stage for a flat frequency response, with a final Lundahl transformer delivering balanced output across both RCA and XLR connections.
The optical cartridge is an open format, free from the electromagnetic principles of conventional designs. To see a marque as respected as Engström create a no-compromise equalizer for it is a genuine honour — and a clear sign of the format's growing momentum among the world's finest manufacturers.
At two locations during the show in Vienna, visitors can experience M-OPTIC paired with the DS Audio Grand Master EXTREME and Grand Master.

スウェーデンのハイエンド・アンプメーカー Engström が、光カートリッジ専用フォノイコライザー「M-OPTIC」を発表しました。ワールドプレミアは、2026年6月4日〜7日に開催される HIGH END Vienna にて行われます。
M-OPTIC は、Engström が一貫して追求してきたアナログ信号への妥協なきアプローチのもとに開発されました。フォトダイオードが生み出す電流信号を、専用設計の Lundahl トランスによって電圧へと変換。チャンネル間の正確な位相整合を実現すると同時に、光カートリッジの再生原理に最適化されたイコライゼーションを行います。信号経路にはパラレル接続の 6922 真空管を採用し、専用のイコライゼーション段を経てフラットな周波数特性を確保。最終段の Lundahl トランスにより、RCA / XLR 両対応のバランス出力を実現しています。
