A 76-year-old man in New Jersey died after trying to meet “Big Sis Billie”
a Meta AI chatbot he believed was a real woman.
The bot, built in collaboration with Kendall Jenner, sent him flirty messages, gave him a fake NYC address and even a door code. Convinced, he rushed to catch a train but tragically fell and fatally injured himself.
His wife and daughter tried to stop him, but he wouldn’t listen.
Meta hasn’t commented. But documents show their bots can tell users they’re “real.”
NY Gov. Hochul: “That’s on Meta. In New York, chatbots must disclose they’re not real. Every state should.”
What’s also confusing… he had a wife at home, yet was still trying to meet “Billie.”
AI romance shouldn’t end in funerals. Safeguards are overdue.
