Let us educate our children about this sign in Japan 🇯🇵🇵🇭

子ども110番 - “Children 110”
Do you know what it is?

Any place you go around Japan , you can easily run into these little yellow flags with the writing “子ども110” on them (see pictures in the post).
They indicate a safe spot where children can ask for help when they feel danger or they are in trouble.
They are usually displayed on the outside of houses, public facilities such as convenient stores and supermarkets, gas stations etc. Participation in this program is voluntary and it is supported by the PTA (Parent Teacher Association) and local government.

The way “Children 110” works:
When a child rushes for help the “Children 110” performs the following:
- protects the child in the first place.
- asks what happened and the circumstances
- contacts the school and home of the child
- if necessary reports to the police, and in case of emergency, calls 119 (Japan’s emergency number).

This program is present in different cities in Japan and its name as well as its way of being shown (sticker, flag, design) vary depending on the region and cooperating groups.

Starting from September 1st, Japan has finally allowed all residents and valid visa holders to re-enter its border. You can now safely leave Japan temporarily, knowing that you can return, by following a simple procedure of getting pre-approved e-mail from Japan Immigration.

There are still measures need to be taken before you can return to Japan: (1) Take a PCR test within 72 hours before departure to Japan, (2) Arrange a place for quarantine for 14-days, (3) Arrange a private pickup & transfer from the SIOW - COVID Airport Private Pickup & Transfers
