11 years ago today, Japan experienced one of the most powerful earthquakes in the world with the magnitude of 9.0. The earthquake was so powerful that it moved Japan's main island Honshu 2.4 meters east and shifted the earth's axis up to 25 cms. With more than 20,000 deaths, more than 2,000 still missing, thousands losing livelihoods, hundreds with serious, permanent psychological scars and the horror from the nuclear plant meltdown, this disaster made us realize humans are constantly under unforeseen threat and need do much with smarter city planning, strengthen resilience and enhance collaboration. CityNet will continue to commit itself for supporting its members and beyond to ensure such suffering will never have to be repeated.

Using footage shot at the center of the March 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami, we bring you a story of horror and heroism during one of history's worst catastrophes.
