_The I-140 is an immigration petition filed by a U.S. employer with USCIS to begin the process of sponsoring a foreign worker for permanent employment in the U.S. An approved PERM Labor Certification is normally required before the I-140 can be filed._

In 1964, as independent Kenya worked to build its healthcare system, pioneering midwives like Ruth Wanjiru Nguru, Joyce Odinga Musandu, Margaret Omuronji Weche, and Perpetua stepped into rural communities where electricity, clean water, and emergency medical support were scarce.

They faced difficult deliveries, limited resources, and communities hesitant to embrace modern medicine. But instead of fighting traditional birth attendants, they built partnerships, shared knowledge, and helped establish the foundation of community-based maternal healthcare in Kenya.
