HI-TECH THERMAL KIONDO-INNOVATION TO CURB ZERO HUNGER
Hunger has both the young girls and woman’s face. In nearly two-thirds of countries, young girls and women are more likely than men to report food insecurity. Women and girls are also commonly the first in their families to bear the brunt of hunger even as they work harder to secure food for their household but they often lack the resources, education and opportunities to support their families and make decisions about food at home. Women and girls suffer the most from nutrient deficiencies, especially during reproductive years, negatively impacting development that is passed down through generations. By ensuring women and girls have access to critical resources, Hi-Tech Thermal Kiondo targets to reduce global rates of hunger significantly up to 100 million people.
Hi-Tech Thermal Bag is a food Kiondo (basket) that fights global zero hunger. It is a stand-alone, non-electric insulated bag designed to reduce the amount of fuel required in cooking of food especially in developing countries. Instead of being placed on a stove for the duration of the cooking period, food is instead heated to a hot enough temperature then transferred to the Hi-Tech Thermal Kiondo which uses the principle of thermal insulation to continue cooking and keeps food warm without needing additional fire or heat. Working on the principle of thermal cooking, the Hi-Tech Thermal Kiondo supports Zero Hunger by ending all forms of hunger and malnutrition by 2030, making sure all people, especially children, have sufficient and nutritious food all year round. One of the key targets to achieve this goal is to double the agricultural productivity and incomes of small-scale food producers, in particular women and girls. Unlike other fire less cookers in the market, Hi-Tech Thermal Kiondo, is unique, durable, efficient, effective and carriable.
