ECPDA MULTISECTORAL CLINIC 2025 REPORT
Greetings ECPDA professionals,
Below is a brief report on the ECPDA’s Multi Sectoral Clinic held on 26th July 2025 at St. Peter’s Upper Primary School in Ishiara.
The event saw our professionals in different sectors sacrifice their time and resources to ensure the day was a success.
Whereas this brief report may not capture everything, following are highlights of what happened on the day under the different ECPDA pillars, each with a convenor/chairperson with Mrs. Florence Kobuthi having been the overall clinic coordinator.
Education, led by Vice Chair Rita Wahome
We had over 1,000 high school students who attended and were able to interact with 10 universities, 5 TVETS and one Higher Education Students Consultancy institution that focuses on studying abroad, namely Uniserve International.
Following were universities present.

The free medical clinic had an overwhelming response with residents of Ishiara streaming in from as early as 6am. The medical team attended the residents as follows.

ECPDA is highly grateful for the support received from the following partners.

Land, led by Planner Moses Mugendi
Planner Moses Mugendi led a team of 8 land experts of different specializations in offering free advisory services to the 15 residents. The team had a lot of planning behind the scenes and the outcome was evident on the material day.
Legal, led by Karimi Ruria
Despite being relatively new to ECPDA’s multi sectoral clinics, Wakili Karimi was able to assemble a strong team of 4 lawyers who offered free legal advice to 13 residents. We appreciate the team of ECPDA lawyers who supported Karimi behind the scenes even if they didn’t manage the attend the clinic for one reason or another.
Culture, led by Faith Wambogo
Faith led a considerable team in planning for the cultural activities despite being the first time she was involved in ECPDA’s multi-sectoral event. Kiathambo Drummers and Kwiminja Dancers kept guests entertained throughout the day. There was a rich display of Mbeere/Embu culture with artefacts, food and drinks on display, and some people were lucky to get an opportunity to sample the delicacies. Traditional gruel seemed to have been the favourite of the majority.
Environment, led by Ireri Waithavu
On the environment corner we had Ireri Waithavu leading a team of 5 environment experts drawn from Kenya Forest Service (KFS), National Environment Management Authority of Kenya (NEMA) and Kiambindu Trees Planting Group in environmental awareness campaign. The team focused on environmental conservation, climate change among other aspects of environment and distributed a total of 150 seedlings of different types donated by ECPDA.
To prepare for the event we also had the following teams.
Resource Mobilization, led by Eng Albert Mugo
As he has done year after year, Eng Albert Mugo led from the front in raising the funds that were used to fund the clinic. The entire planning team was in Engineer’s team, and everyone went out of their way to reach out to different institutions to fund our clinic. In due course our treasurer CPA Olive Gitau shall be able to give the financial report for the multisectoral clinic. The following organizations partnered with ECPDA as sponsors and/or exhibitors and helped to raise resources that were used;
Stima Sacco
Equity Bank, Embu Branch
KASNEB
Tharaka University
Mount Kenya University (MKU)
Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST)
KCA University

Media & Publicity, led by Daniel Ireri Mwathi
Daniel’s team ensured that the clinic got good media publicity with live coverage on radio at both Wimwaro FM and Ngemi FM. The team also ensured announcements were done on the ground around Ishiara market and its environs as well in local churches.
Special appreciation
The Mbeere North ‘host’ team composed of Ms.Harriet Njeru (leader), Dr. Peter Muchanje, Mr. Daniel Ireri Mwathi, Mr. Ireri Waithavu and Ms. Seraphine Nthigah did a fantastic job of hosting us and their presence and commitment showed the immense value that members with knowledge of local dynamics bring to the larger team. This they achieved with great background support of our senior members from the area namely Prof James Kanya, Mr. Ngarari and Dr Jane Ngarari.
ECPDA members who graced the occasion led by all past chairpersons namely Mr. Ibrahim Mwathane (Emeritus 1), Dr. Josephine Kibaru (Emeritus 2) and Dr. Edward Kobuthi (Emeritus 3). We may not list all ECPDA members who attended but kindly feel much appreciated.
