Hundreds of residents from Gondomar, the small Portuguese town where Jota grew up, gathered today for the 28-year-old Liverpool striker's funeral. The private service was attended by his family and Portugal teammates, while fans continue laying tributes at Anfield. Jota and his brother tragically died in a car accident when their vehicle burst into flames, with police suspecting a tire burst caused the crash.

At just 28, Jota had so much life ahead of him. A devoted father, loving husband, and teammate who brought joy to everyone around him. Some people leave this world far too early, but their impact on the hearts they touched lasts forever.
