If a tray is sold at an average farm-gate price of about KSh 400, the farm can generate around KSh 220,800–230,400 per day, which is about KSh 6.6M–6.9M per month. A layer bird eats approximately 110–140 grams of feed per day, so 18,000 birds consume about 1,980–2,520 kg of feed daily (around 40–50 bags of 50 kg feed). If one bag costs about KSh 3,000, the daily feed cost is roughly KSh 120,000–150,000, giving a monthly feed cost of about KSh 3.6M–4.5M. After subtracting feed, the farm may remain with roughly KSh 2.1M–3.0M per month before other expenses like labour, vaccines, electricity, trays, and transport.
