At Baus Taka Enterprise, we’re driving the transition from a linear to a circular economy anchored on three key pillars:

📲 Digital Circularity
⚖️ Policy Influence & Systems Change
👥 Inclusive Livelihoods

Through these pillars, we’re building smarter waste systems, advocating for enabling policy environments and creating dignified green livelihoods while tackling marine plastic pollution.

Interested in building a more circular future with us? Let’s connect.

Different Contexts. Common Aspirations. 🌍

Baus Taka joined the Department of Youth, Gender, Sports & Social Services - Mombasa County Government of Mombasa and fellow partners in commemorating International Youth Day 2026 at Tononoka Social Hall.

Under the theme “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” the celebration brought together young people, government, private sector and community organisations around a shared vision for youth opportunity and participation.

At Baus Taka, we believe young people must be at the centre of the transition to a circular economy not only as beneficiaries, but as innovators, entrepreneurs and leaders driving solutions within their communities.

We were proud to be part of this collective celebration and to continue championing digital circularity and inclusive green livelihoods for youth. ♻️🌊

📢 Happy International Youth Day 2026!

This year’s theme, “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” reminds us that while young people may come from different communities and realities, the desire for opportunity, meaningful livelihoods and a sustainable future is shared.

Here in Mombasa, Baus Taka is proud to champion youth-driven innovation and digital solutions that are advancing the circular economy and creating green opportunities.

The circular future is ours to build. Let’s digitize circularity together. ♻️💚

What does it take to make plastics truly circular in Kenya? 🇰🇪♻️

Baus Taka participated in the Plastics and Packaging Focus Group Discussion contributing to the development of Kenya’s first National Circular Economy Strategy and Implementation Plan (CESIP).

The conversation looked across the entire plastics value chain from designing packaging for recyclability and reuse, to scaling reuse and refill systems, strengthening collection and value recovery, integrating and fairly compensating waste pickers and aggregators, and creating viable markets for recycled plastics.

It also tackled some of the harder questions: Who pays for the transition? What incentives will shift the market? How should EPR reward better design? What standards are needed for recycled and reusable packaging? And what interventions should Kenya prioritise first?

For us, this is where the circular economy conversation becomes important: not simply managing materials once they become waste, but redesigning the systems that determine how they are produced, used, recovered and kept in circulation.

The FGD was convened by KEPSA in partnership with Intellecap as part of the CESIP process commissioned by the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry, with support from the Finnish Innovation Fund (Sitra) through the EU Circular Economy Resource Centre (EU CERC).

The opportunity is not just to recycle more. It is to build a system where waste is designed out from the beginning.

Reflecting on the close-out meeting of the Access to Green Finance Project by the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE), which brought together circular economy enterprises and ecosystem partners to reflect on progress, lessons learned, and what comes next for Kenya’s waste and circularity sector.

The discussions highlighted key priorities for strengthening the ecosystem: better market access, stronger collaboration, investor readiness and business formalization, and policy action to address regulatory barriers.

We were particularly encouraged by the launch of ANDE’s revolving fund, managed by Circle Innovation, which will provide zero-interest financing to project alumni, creating an important pathway for promising green enterprises to continue growing and scaling their impact.

Building a thriving circular economy requires more than innovative solutions. It requires accessible finance, viable markets, enabling policies, and strong partnerships that allow green enterprises to scale sustainably.
We are excited to see these conversations translate into action and to continue contributing to the growth of Kenya’s circular economy.

Baus Taka is participating in today’s stakeholder engagement organized by PAKPRO® on the proposed EPR Fee Distribution Framework at Eka Hotel in Nairobi.

The conversation goes beyond EPR fees , it is about building a system that fairly recognizes the role and contribution of every actor across the waste value chain, from waste pickers and CBOs to aggregators, service providers and recyclers.

We look forward to contributing to a transparent, equitable and sustainable EPR system in Kenya.
