KRA will allow Kenyans to file their 2025 tax returns using expenses that are not compliant with eTIMS.
Initially, KRA had announced that, starting January 1, 2026, it would validate all declared expenses, both for individuals and businesses, against eTIMS receipts.
The directive has affected businesses, consultants and freelancers who did not obtain eTIMS receipts for their expenditures in 2025.
Those who have non-compliant eTIMS receipts can now upload them on the iTax portal under the manual and non-eTIMS invoices tab when filing their returns.
