Mzima Cottage (sleeps 4 max) is a two bed-roomed front row guest cottage set in a spacious garden with spectacular views of the stunning pristine beach. This can be leased on its own, since it is self-contained or along with Mzima House.

The cottage has one double and one twin room, although the twin can be made into a double if required. Both bedrooms feature fans, mosquito nets and air conditioning. There is one shared bathroom.

The property also features a plunge pool and spacious open plan sitting room/ dining room. There is a covered veranda and a barbeque area that offers the opportunity for alfresco dining.
The house is furnished to a high standard and is fully staffed including cook.

Al Hamra is a beautiful Morroccan-inspired 4 Bedroom house with a stunning central salt-water swimming pool. Set in an acre of garden approximately 150 meters from the main Turtle Bay Beach and Watamu Marine Park, via a private beach access.
With plenty of comfortable seating areas throughout the house, sunbeds around the pool as well as a couple of star beds set at the end of the pool - it's hard not to relax here.
Flanking the pool area connected to the main house by arched corridors, are two large bedroom suites, each with fitted mosquito nets, air-conditioning, ensuite bathrooms and a private shaded roof terrace above. Each of these roof terraces has a couple of lamu beds that can be made up as single beds with mosquito nets and a stand fan.

A third double room with mosquito net, air-conditioning and ensuite bathroom is within the main part of the house on the ground floor along with a TV room with satellite TV.

The first floor houses the living space, dining area and cloakroom and overlooks the fantastic covered plunge pool that overflows into the main pool in the garden below. There is also TV with satellite TV on the first floor.

On the upper floor there is a fabulous Master bedroom suite with a spacious kingsize bed, mosquito net, overhead fan, ensuite bathroom and dressing room. The suite opens out onto a large makuti-covered terrace with an additional double bed for a change of scene.
Al Hamra is fully staffed including an excellent cook and they are all happy to help make your holiday a relaxing one. Massage treatements can be arranged at the house and there is an information booklet on the house to help navigate all Watamu has to offer.

The house can sleep a maximum of 14 guests (including children)

LET'S MEET AT THE LAMU FOOD FESTIVAL:
EVENT DATE

ADDRESS: Lamu Archipelago, Kenya.

The Food Festival which will feature, as it did last year more than just Kenya’s most famous Swahili foods such as bhajia, samosa, pilau and chapatti, all of which derive from the Indian sub-continent, brought by Asian migrant workers and traders since the late 19th century.

There will also be a wide variety of other traditional Swahili foods coming from various indigenous communities such as the Bajun and Boni or Aweer among others. There will also be tasty sweets available at the Expo, at many of the food vendors’ stands and even coming out of the cooking classes that will be held throughout the weekend.

Traditional cooks and street food vendors from across the County will be set up along the Lamu Seafront, reminiscent of Zanzibar, selling street. There will be cooking competitions, talks given by noted Kenyan chef Ali Mandhry, as well as Food Tours of Lamu Town.
