*CIPS CONGRESS ELECTIONS IS NOW OPEN*
My name is KEVIN OKINDA
_CIPS AFRICA CONGRESS REPRESENTATIVE CANDIDATE_
I have been a member of the CIPS since 2016 April, when I joined at Diploma level and currently i my professional diploma level. I also graduated with Bachelor of Business Administration (Supply chain management)
Iam currently pursuing my Masters, MSc in supply chain management from Maseno university in Kenya.
Aside my CIPS membership , I am also a member of Kenya institute of Supplies Management(KISM) and a practitioner.
I am currently a Risk management and compliance officer with the largest retail supermarket in Kenya with over 65 branches in East Africa.
As founder and national chairman for Procurement Students and Professionals Association of Kenya,(PROSPA-K), I have sought to promote the supply profession by mentoring and nurturing students and practitioners alike at all levels of the CIPS program.
*WHAT HAVE I DONE BEFORE?*
I serve as the National chairman for Procurement and supply chain students in Kenya
a) In 2016,PROSPA-K association won the CIPS pan Africa supply management award in the category: *Best People development initiative* This was because of the mentorship and free sharing of knowldge,skills,experiences and challenges in supply chain groups that i started among students and professionals in Kenya.

b) Since 2015 when we started PROSPA-K, we have been able to support 15 students from Our group to win CIPS International Bursery which supports needy people with Full membership, exams fee and all books at no fee.
c) I have organized a number of students and professional conferences At National levels, Regional levels and university levels.
c) As a national Association chairman, I have spearheaded members of my groups to get procurement certification
This year February, we paid for 5 members of our groups to be members of Kenya Institute of supply management (KISM) which is our national procurement body.
We also paid Exam fee for five of our members to start Certified Procurement and supply profession of Kenya(CPSP-K) exams.
d) Through encouraging our members, many have gone back to school and some worked so well to be promoted at work places.
e) I have been able to form various Social media groups, particularly WhatsApp where CIPS studying students from Africa have joined and have freely received CIPS notes, past papers and other resources.

My main objective to join congress is to contribute to the promotion of CIPS Africa ensuring that branches are aligned to the global growth strategy of the institute. My objective will focus in ensuring that CIPS qualification is recognized as undisputable professional qualification in all countries and that its affordable to every student in Africa.
I formed several social and professional platforms and have noted with concern from many students in different countries with specific concerns but do not know where to channel them. I seek to be the channel through which such concerns are addressed.
My hope is to see CIPS Africa play a significant role in national procurement directives in the African continent.
It would be a great pleasure to work with other congress members to meet the challanges facing CIPS students in Africa.I present myself to you as a leader with passion and enthusiasm to represent the interest of African students in CIPS.
I will be your key communications link between students and CIPS leadership.
i will ensure that issues that matter to students are on the Agenda and that CIPS decisions are influenced by the opinions of Africa student member.
I seek your vote to be the channel between you as student and CIPS.
I want t ensure that the voice of all African student from all countries is heard.
I believe that if i forge strong collaborative links between students In Africa and CIPS ,then this will provide a better and more responsive way of service delivery to students.
I promise to engage with members to understand their deeper needs and how they are being affected by developments in supply chain,and make recommendations to the CIPS Global board of Trustees on basis of the feedback i get from students.
I will always communicate and champion CIPS strategies ,plans and achievements back tp all students.
Iam passionate about influencing the future of supply chain across Africa and in CIPS.
I will represent you and be your voice in decisions that affect you like books,exams and member befits.
I humbly present myself to you as that voice and channel through which your concerns will be heard by CIPS and addressed.
