A Kenyan mother living in Waterloo, Iowa, USA, is mourning the devastating loss of her three children after a fatal road accident during a family vacation in Kenya.
Wangui Ndirangu’s family trip—intended as a joyful holiday and reunion—turned to tragedy when a crash occurred along a highway near Nairobi on January 4, 2026.
Two of her children, Kairo Winkelpleck and Emmanuel Deleon, died at the scene. Their older sister, Njeri Deleon, succumbed to her injuries twelve days later, passing away last Friday while receiving treatment.
The siblings’ bodies are being held at the Umash Funeral Home and are scheduled for interment this Saturday at the Kariokor Crematorium.
