There is a tendency by some of us believers to rejoice & reflect the power of God when we win. But we often fail to talk about how we found God. How it was God's voice that gave us counselling, peace and direction when we were lost. Lost, trying to please the world. Lost, trying to please the hearts of man. Lost.
The truth is that true believers would still bless God, even in the middle of a storm. So don't let our raising His name in victory deceive you.
Last night, I had the incredible privilege of being awarded the Guardian Award at the prestigious awards. I was one of the South Africans honoured at the event—myself, the legend Bab'John Kani.
The over 22 years I have spent in this industry earned me this award.
The over 6 million followers across social media earned me this award.
The multiple awards, world championships, magazine covers and academic citations earned me this award.
I can tell you that the sleepless nights, risks taken, stress endured and pressure of success earned me this award.
But the truth is, there are many others who have taken risks, gone through worse trials, and endured more pain than me. Yet, they don't have the accolades.
The truth is this: it is only by the grace of God. It is by the blood of Jesus. It is by the covering of the Holy Spirit that I am here.
Dear Holy Spirit, reduce me. Increase You. Crucify this flesh that I may only seek Jesus.
To the board of and the auditors EY, I am humbled. To the people of Ghana, thank you for continuing to be a light for the continent.
To every single entrepreneur reading this, you too can change the world.
To the love of my Lewe, thank you for being our foundation, praying for our home and keeping us grounded in the word. To the Govers, thank you for allowing me the space to do my work. The gruelling travel schedule, missed recitals, the untold sacrifices made. Thank you.
To God be glory.
