🕊️ Sermon Title:
“Jesus: The Future to All
đź“– Main Text:
Luke 9:28–36
> “Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus…” (v. 30)
🪔 Introduction:
Jesus' transfiguration is one of the most profound moments in the Gospels.
In this event, Moses and Elijah appear with Him.
The question: Why them? What does this moment reveal about Jesus and God's plan?
✝️ I. They Represent the Law and the Prophets
> “Do not think I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets...” — Matthew 5:17
Moses = the Lawgiver (Torah).
Elijah = the Prophet of fire, confronting sin and calling people to God.
Their presence shows that all of Scripture points to Jesus.
🪧 Application:
We can trust the Bible because its testimony is consistent—from Genesis to Revelation, it's all about Christ.
🕊️ II. They Confirm Jesus as the Fulfillment of God's Plan
> “This is My Son, whom I have chosen; listen to Him.” — Luke 9:35
God interrupts the scene to shift attention to Jesus alone.
The Law and the Prophets were preparation, but now the fullness has come.
Jesus is not just a continuation—He is the climax of divine revelation.
🪧 Application:
Our faith must be rooted not in systems or traditions, but in Christ alone.
🔥 III. They Spoke of His "Exodus" (Luke 9:31)
> “They spoke about His departure (Greek: exodos)…”
Moses led the first exodus—deliverance from Egypt.
Jesus will lead the ultimate exodus—deliverance from sin and death through the cross.
Elijah points to the coming glory and resurrection.
🪧 Application:
Every believer is on a journey—Christ leads us from bo***ge to freedom, earth to eternity.
🌟 IV. They Show the Glory to Come
> “They appeared in glorious splendor…” — Luke 9:30
Moses died and was buried by God (Deut. 34); Elijah was taken to heaven alive (2 Kings 2).
Both now appear glorified, symbolizing the resurrection hope for all believers.
Jesus’ transfiguration is a preview of His and our future glory (Romans 8:18, 1 Cor. 15:43).
