MANGAR, KENYA.

The hill visible with a flat top is Gotab hill in Sabor, Baringo South Constituency.

The area is inhabitated by the indigenous tugen community of Sabor. They named the area Mangar. Mangar has been nominated as a Geosite by the UNESCO global geopark network because of its geological, spiritual, cultural and economic significance to the local community.

The 400 acres land is a catchment area with a permanent water spring. It is also a critical habitat for the rare patas monkey and the African caracal and is a dispersal area for the greater kudu . Occasionally one can spot leopards and hyenas.

The huge borders of rock falls has exposed unique geological formation that is part of the Great Rift Valley. There is also presence of tamarind trees. The community conservancy management also have there annual hiking excursion for health living done every New year.

During this coming new year 2024 annual event never plan to miss!!
