One of the most debilitating factors to business growth is pricing, it is indeed one of the most powerful levers in business as it directly influences revenue, profit margins, customer behavior, market positioning, and long-term sustainability.

Even a small adjustment in price can significantly change business outcomes. It is even more complicated when it comes to pricing digital labor, and here many people literally struggle to understand both from a vendor perspective as well as a client perspective.

I have been asked by many to help give an overview of the same, especially on digital labor.
Honestly speaking, there are countless variables to consider in this aspect but I will try giving a general overview and in-case you need specifics we can discuss on a one-to-one basis.

Businesses that master their pricing grow sustainably, while those that misprice their products struggle despite having good products or services.

Pricing is not just a number. It is a strategic tool that:

• Drives profit
• Shapes brand identity
• Attracts the right customers
• Helps beat competition
• Supports expansion
• Regulates demand
• Builds loyalty

The following are the key areas to pay attention to when pricing your respective digital products, or in turn negotiating as a client:

• Skill level and specialization
• Market demand
• Client’s budget and business size
• Tools/software costs
• Turnaround time
• Work complexity
• Revisions and scope

At EDCO Consulting, we shall give you an in-depth and customized approach in settling on a pricing policy as well as guide you on how best to find a balance between profits and fair pricing.

FEED YOUR BUSINESS UNTIL IT CAN FEED YOU.

There’s a common belief that you should “cap” how much you reinvest in your business, especially in the early days.
I’ve never agreed with that.

When something is young, fragile and full of potential, you don’t ration its growth.
You nurture it. Consistently. Patiently. Sacrificially.

A newborn baby is fed every two to three hours, not because the parents enjoy sleepless nights, but because that’s what growth requires. If you stop feeding the baby simply because “you’ve given enough,” you stunt what could have become strong, healthy and unstoppable.

Business is no different.

In the beginning, your business needs everything you can give it, your time, your resources, your knowledge, your consistency, your discipline, your reinvestment. Not because it is demanding, but because that’s how foundation is built.

Cap your expenses if you must,
Cap your lifestyle if you have to,
But do not cap the growth of your vision.

Feed your business according to its needs, until it becomes strong enough to feed you back.
And when that day comes, you’ll be grateful that you did not starve what was meant to sustain generations.

Keep building.
Keep nurturing.
Keep reinvesting.

Your future is counting on the choices you make today

One area that often suffocates start-ups and businesses is "waste".

In this difficult economic terrain, it is important to have knowledge on how best to navigate the tight economic bends. One small misstep can send you into a downward spiral, one minor mishap and your hard earned gains are rendered insignificant.

Here are quick nuggets on how to cut down on waste:

1. Identify Sources of Waste
• Conduct regular audits (financial, operational, inventory, energy use).
• Use techniques like Lean Management or Six Sigma to track where resources are lost.
• Categorize waste: material, time, manpower, money, or energy.

2. Improve Inventory Management
• Avoid overstocking or understocking by adopting Just-in-Time (JIT) systems.
• Use digital tools or ERP software to track stock in real-time.
• Regularly review slow-moving or obsolete items.

3. Streamline Processes
• Standardize workflows to cut duplication.
• Automate repetitive tasks using technology (e.g., payroll, invoicing, customer communication).
• Reduce unnecessary steps in service or production lines.

4. Enhance Staff Efficiency
• Train employees on resource-conscious practices.
• Encourage a culture of accountability ("treat company resources as your own").
• Monitor performance and reward efficiency.

5. Control Energy and Utilities
• Switch to energy-efficient equipment.
• Track electricity, water, and fuel usage to eliminate leaks or unnecessary consumption.
• Adopt renewable energy where possible.

6. Adopt Technology
• Use cloud systems to reduce paper use.
• Implement project management tools for better time use.
• Use data analytics to predict and prevent wastages.

7. Recycle and Reuse
• Recycle raw materials where possible (e.g., packaging, scrap metal, paper).
• Repurpose waste into by-products (e.g., food waste into animal feed).

8. Financial Controls
• Budget tightly and monitor expenses regularly.
• Detect leakages such as fraud, misuse of company assets, or unnecessary spending.
• Implement approval systems for purchases.

9. Customer and Market Alignment
• Avoid producing or stocking products without clear demand.
• Gather feedback to ensure services/products match customer needs.
• Stop offering low-return or redundant services.

10. Continuous Improvement Culture
• Encourage employee suggestions on cost-cutting.
• Regularly benchmark against industry best practices.
• Celebrate small wins to motivate staff to reduce wastage further.

....And yes i have been away for a while because i was working on assignments that you gave me....its been fun, fulfilling and yet demanding all at the same time....

So let me share something about MENTORSHIP.

Who is a mentor?.....what is Mentorship?

Mentorship is a supportive relationship where a more experienced person (mentor) guides, advises, and supports a less experienced person (mentee) to help them achieve their goals, grow skills, and gain confidence.

It’s not about giving orders—it’s about sharing knowledge, listening, and helping the mentee unlock their own potential.

what is the Purpose of Mentorship?

To transfer knowledge and skills.

To provide guidance and perspective.

To help mentees avoid mistakes and learn faster.

To create networks and opportunities.

To build confidence and resilience.

Here are the different types of Mentorship:

One-on-one mentorship – mentor and mentee meet regularly.

Group mentorship – one mentor guides a group (useful in schools or companies).

Peer mentorship – colleagues or peers mentor each other.

Reverse mentorship – younger/less experienced people guide senior people (e.g., on technology trends).

What are the qualities of a good mentor?

Empathetic and patient

Good listener

Honest and trustworthy

Experienced but humble

Supportive and encouraging

Willing to share networks

mentorship works best when it’s goal-driven, consistent, and based on trust. A good mentor doesn’t just “teach”—they inspire, challenge, and open doors.

At EDCO, we shall give you the complete MANUAL/GUIDE to executive mentorship models for Employees and Entrepreneurs

Autonomous systems are designed to perform tasks or make decisions without direct human intervention. These systems rely on a combination of sensors, data processing, decision-making algorithms, and actuators to operate independently.

Example of an Autonomous System:

A Self-Driving Car ->

Perception: The car uses sensors like LIDAR, cameras, and radar to detect the road, other vehicles, pedestrians, traffic signs, etc.

Data Processing: The car’s AI system processes the sensor data to create a map of the car’s surroundings and understand things like the speed and distance of nearby objects.

Decision-Making: The AI system decides the best course of action based on the data. For example, if there’s a pedestrian crossing the street, the system might decide to slow down or stop.

Actuation: The system controls the car’s steering, braking, and acceleration to execute the decision.

Feedback Loop: The car continuously monitors its surroundings, adjusts its behavior, and improves based on new experiences.

The Challenges:

Autonomous systems face a variety of challenges ->

Uncertainty: Sensors might not always provide perfect data, and the environment can be unpredictable (e.g., weather, sudden obstacles).

Ethical Decisions: In some scenarios, autonomous systems might need to make tough moral or ethical decisions (like in a car accident scenario).

Safety: Ensuring that the system is always safe and reliable, even in unexpected conditions.
