Job Title: HR Manager / Chief of Staff
Location: Kikuyu, Kenya
Reports to: CEO
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and scope

254 Brewing is a proudly Kenyan craft brewery dedicated to brewing world-class beers with bold flavor, integrity, and sustainability. As we grow, we’re looking for an experienced HR Manager with the capacity to support broader operational alignment and leadership if required.
Role Summary

The HR Manager will oversee core people functions including recruitment, contracts and compliance, payroll administration, and workplace policy. If capacity allows, the role may extend into Chief of Staff responsibilities, supporting executive decision-making, coordinating cross-functional teams, and driving special projects.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Management
Lead and coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes
Oversee employment contracts, compliance, and personnel files
Manage payroll processing and statutory contributions
Maintain and update HR policies, employee handbook, and internal documentation
Facilitate onboarding and offboarding processes
Support the resolution of staff issues and disciplinary processes
Coordinate staff engagement and feedback cycles
Operational Support
Support the CEO with planning, ex*****on, and tracking of strategic initiatives
Collaborate across teams (e.g., Procurement, IT, Production) to enhance coordination
Prepare internal reports and follow up on action plans across departments
Act as liaison between leadership and wider team for smoother workflow
Manage sensitive communications with discretion and maturity

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
At least 4 years’ experience in a generalist HR role; experience in a fast-paced SME preferred
Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and HR best practices
Experience with HRIS tools
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strategic thinker with the ability to execute under minimal supervision
Added advantage: Experience supporting executive functions or project management
