Behind every successful blood drive in remote Kenya is a network of dedicated hands and localized ex*****on.

When our solar-powered mobile fridges were deployed for the Turkana blood donation drive organized by the Lodwar Satellite Blood Transfusion Center, the real success wasn't just the technology holding temperature - it was seeing how seamlessly local health teams brought communities together.

True last-mile impact happens when regional blood transfusion centers, county health initiatives, and innovative local infrastructure unite. By removing the fear of blood spoilage caused by grid failures or lack of power, we give health workers the confidence to go deeper into remote regions like Turkana East, Turkana North, and Kibish.

That’s a wrap on the Africa HealthTech Summit 2026 in Kigali, and what an inspiring way to finish! 🇷🇼✨

The final day opened with Prof. PLO Lumumba reminding us that Africa's path to sustainability and sovereignty runs squarely through owning its own solutions. At Drop Access, that core philosophy drives everything we build: cold chain technology designed and manufactured right here in Africa, built specifically for the places that need it most. 🌍️

It was also an absolute honor for our team to connect with Minnesota State Representative Huldah Momanyi Hiltsley. Our Co-founder Jamo Mulatya also greatly valued the opportunity to swap ideas and stories with fellow founders at the "Transforming Africa MedTech" lunch. It is wonderful to see so much talent and determination driving this ecosystem forward.

A massive thank you to the organizers, speakers, and everyone who stopped by for a conversation this week. We are excited to keep these connections growing long after the conference.

True healthcare access means ensuring safe blood can travel anywhere it is needed, no matter how remote. 🌍

Earlier this year, Drop Access took on some of Kenya's toughest terrain. Through our partnership supporting blood drives across Turkana East, Turkana North, and Kibish, we deployed our locally made solar-powered mobile fridges right to the frontlines.

Operating entirely off-grid without diesel generators, our fridges maintained strict clinical temperatures, leveraged 24-hour battery backups, and used live IoT monitoring to completely eliminate blood spoilage risks in extreme ambient heat.
