DRC and Zambia to establish SEZs for electric vehicle production.

The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) have signed a framework agreement with the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia for the establishment of special economic zones for the production of electric vehicles and batteries as the continent looks to add value to surging demand for its critical minerals.

Kenya: Manufacturers Voice Concern Over Kenya Power Plan to Increase Electricity Prices

Nairobi — Manufacturers have voiced their concerns over planned electricity hike by Kenya Power, which they say will lead to higher cost of production.

The Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) argues that the increment will see the cost of electricity rise by between Sh3.5 and Sh5, depending on tariff and consumption.
