Congratulations, Capt. Kinuthia, and a happy retirement.

Last year, we had the pleasure of interviewing some of Kenya's aviators, among them the good captain...he was hired by East African Airways on a Saturday, and the next week, before he could settle into his new job, the airline's operations crumbled (story for another day)...shortly thereafter he joined the then newly launched Kenya Airways. With an illustrious career spanning 42 years, and many feathers in his cap, our best wishes to Captain as he moves on to the next chapter.

Fact: 17.5 million people die every year due to cardio-vascular disease.

Fact: 80% of these deaths are in middle and low income countries where human and financial resources are least able to address the disease burden.

Fact: Heart disease and stroke cause a third of all deaths in women worldwide.

Fact: on average, the human heart beats about 4,800 times per hour...while love can occasionally "make your heart skip a beat", if you don't take great care of the one and only heart you have, cardio vascular disease will creep in, and even before you know it, the damage done will be irreparable.

Fact: you can do something about it TODAY.

Friday 29th September is World Heart Day. Win for yourself and your loved ones. Don't let this day come and go.

Drop by www.worldhearday.org, get empowered to care for yourself and your loved ones.

Blessings.

food for thought: are you in charge of your brand, or have you allowed someone else to define your brand?

FUN FACTS

Famous Left-handers: President Barack Obama, President Uhuru Kenyatta, Prince William, Leonardo Da Vinci, Drew Barrymore, Henry Ford, Aristotle, Marie Curie.

Just 10% of the world's population is left-handed, and this has remained the case for thousands of years. Men are also more likely to be left-handed.

Historically, left-handed people were considered to be inferior, with the use of the left hand being associated with witchcraft.

Today, we celebrate every left-hander we know - because, like every other human being, they are very special.

Happy International Left-handers Day.

Never under-estimate the power of your digital footprint. Give thought to what sort of brand you have built online, consciously and unconsciously...for many people have formed, are forming, and will form opinions about you, based on these very footprints.
