Strengthening International Trade Partnerships

KIFWA today paid a courtesy visit to the High Commission of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in Nairobi following an invitation to explore strategic collaboration opportunities in the logistics and trade sector. The engagement was held in preparation for Sri Lanka Expo 2027, an international trade exhibition that will feature a dedicated Logistics Services Pavilion and provide a platform for business networking and investment.

The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Kenya and Sri Lanka, promoting greater engagement between logistics stakeholders, and exploring opportunities for KIFWA members to participate in pre-Expo business forums and the Sri Lanka Expo 2027 delegation. The meeting also underscored the strategic importance of the Mombasa–Colombo trade corridor in enhancing regional and global supply chain connectivity, as highlighted in the invitation from the High Commission.

KIFWA appreciates the warm reception extended by the High Commission of Sri Lanka and looks forward to fostering a mutually beneficial partnership that will create new opportunities for knowledge exchange, business collaboration, and international trade.

IMPLEMENTATION OF THE DIGITAL MARINE CARGO INSURANCE (DMCI) SYSTEM

The Digital Marine Cargo Insurance (DMCI) System is now live and fully integrated. All members are advised to ensure that marine cargo imports are insured through licensed local insurers and that the digital insurance certificate is attached in iCMS during declaration.
