VACANT POSITION: BAR & RESTAURANT MANAGER – GROSS SALARY - KES. 70,000
A new high end Bar & Restaurant located in Westlands is looking for a Bar & Restaurant Manager who is committed, proactive and would enjoy working in an exciting, fast-paced environment. The candidate will be expected to plan, direct and oversee all the bar and the restaurant’s operations including managing staff, ensuring product and service standards are met, implement and maintain procedures for maximum operating efficiency.
The candidate will also manage inventory and resources and maximize customer satisfaction. The candidate should be able to work with diverse personalities and diffuse tense situations. The candidate should be observant, with the ability to think critically and efficiently; a team player who will work with urgency at all times
Duties and Responsibilities
• Identify and implement tools and processes that streamline operations and help staff perform optimally.
• Identify staffing needs and assist with the hiring process.
• Conduct guest satisfaction checks on the floor and solve any arising issues.
• Delegate duties and tasks to staff to meet objectives, maximize resources set and monitor quality and service standards for staff
• Manage inventory for the Bar and Kitchen by re-ordering supplies, negotiating rates and contracts with vendors, be the point of contact for deliveries to ensure these are received on time.
• Oversee and enforce safety measures related to food safety and theft prevention.
• Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste
• Create detailed reports on weekly, monthly and annual revenues and expenses
• Daily confirmation of stock for both bar and kitchen
• Handle any customer complaints promptly and report to the Directors on all matters
• Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
• Create and maintain a fun and safe atmosphere for the patrons
• Manage costs and expenses of the business and increase profitability for the business
• Business development: come up with creative income streams for the business
• Arrange and attend staff briefings, identify any challenges and ensure these are handled as soon as possible.
• Formulate, implement and communicate company policies, standards and procedures to staff
• Ensure proper utilization of Company resources by all.
• Establish rapport with guests to build loyal and satisfied customers.
Qualifications
• Proven work experience as a Bar & Restaurant Manager for at least 3 years in a fast paced environment
• Relevant Degree/Diploma in Hospitality Management or Culinary School with extensive Food & Beverage knowledge
• Acute financial management skills
• Knowledge of basic accounting, cost control and business management processes.
• Familiarity with restaurant POS Software is a plus
