The recently approved Nairobi city County Development Control policy, 2026 is expected to provide better clarity and improvement on development approvals in the city.
Some of the changes includes;
• Change in land use zones and sub zones
• Revision of development control parameters such as minimum plot sizes, building heights, plot coverage, plot ratio, land use and infrastructure requirements
This is expected to have significant impacts on infrastructure development, land subdivision, change of use, extension of use, master plans, building plans approvals among others.

We were privileged to have received a delegation from Architectural Association of Kenya in our offices. Various important planning matters were discussed including areas of collaboration, feedback on industry status, developments application and approval challenges, Online development application and approvals systems, membership welfare, AAK SACCO, pathways for Urban designers membership who form part of our staff among others.
