Ramani Mashinani is a Social Enterprise that uses Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for community development. Through data collection and visualization, we work with communities to identify available resources and apply this knowledge in development initiatives. We work with countless actors, such as local residents, governments, non-governmental organizations, small businesses and institution

s of higher learning. Our collective expertise lies in community organizing, participatory digital mapping, web and mobile-based mapping technologies, data collection and communication. We implement projects that build the capacity of local institutions, and advise organizations on the effective uses of digital maps. Ramani Mashinani has developed and managed successful PGIS projects in Kibera, Mathare, and Mukuru Slums.
