IASR - Institute of Applied Studies & Research team had an amazing opportunity to visit the Senate, hosted by the Parliamentary Commission, for an insightful learning tour. The session provided us with a deeper understanding of how the parliamentary budget process works, a truly eye-opening experience for our team.

A big thank you to Mr. Edison Odhiambo (Fiscal Analyst), Ms. Fatuma Ruwange (Senate Liaison Officer), and Ms. Swaluha M. Yusuf (Public Communication Assistant) for the warm welcome and for making the day run smoothly. During our visit, the IASR team engaged in a productive review of SIBโ€™s Monitoring & Evaluation Plan and Indicator Performance Tracking Table (IPTT), a key step in enhancing results-based programming.

On this joyous occasion of Eid Ul-Fitr, the Institute of Applied Studies and Research (IASR) extends warm greetings to all our Muslim brothers and sisters. As we mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan, we are reminded of the profound lessons of faith, sacrifice, and renewal.

The Quran beautifully reminds us, "And whoever puts their trust in Allah, He will be enough for them." (Surah At-Talaq 65:3)

Proud moments last Saturday at the Ghana Sharing and Learning event hosted by the African Nurses Midwives Confederation. The event successfully fostered dialogue and knowledge sharing among stakeholders; reinforcing the importance of evidence based decision making and collaborative efforts in strengthening Ghana's Health workforce.

Ably representing the Ghanaian and the SG 60 Study team was madam president Perpetual Ofori. Exciting moments yesterday at the Sharing and Learning Session at Radisson Blu Hotel, Upper Hill! ๐ŸŽ‰

This session focuses on health workforce well-being interventions and initiatives across Kenya, Nigeria, and Ghana, bringing together experts to exchange insights, share best practices, and strengthen collaborations.

Representing the IASR team and SG 60 team at this important event were CEO IASR Desmondboi Ogalo, Head of Corporate Venia Ogango, IASR, Lavin Odhiambo Head of Office, IASR, Ouma Oluga Principal Investigator (PI) for the study and Alfred Obengo Data Management Specialist for the SG 60 project, a research grant project on wellbeing of health workers across the three countries.

A special thank you to National Nurses Association Of Kenya - NNAK THET (Tropical Health and Education Trust), Department of Health and Social Care - DHSC, Council of Governors-Kenya and The Ministry of Health, for the special support given during this study.

The session provided an incredible platform to exchange insights, explore best practices, and strengthen cross-country collaborations in advancing health workforce well-being. Looking forward to impactful actionable outcomes!

Our Head Corporate Liaison, Venia Ogango attended the International Day of the Girl Child at the Fairmont Norfolk Hotel in Nairobi. She had a wonderful opportunity to celebrate this day with other young girls and young people facing challenges in crisis regions. The stories shared about resilient young girls from places like Sudan, Somalia, and Malawi were quite heartbreaking and served as a wake-up call for those in policy and government roles to take ๐ฆ๐ž๐š๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐Ÿ๐ฎ๐ฅ ๐š๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง.

The young girls are innocent and deserve so much more than the hardships they endure, such as violence, lack of access to sexual and reproductive health resources, education, and emotional support. Itโ€™s essential for everyone to play a part, no matter how small, in making a commitment to support these young girls and working towards a better future for them. ๐“๐จ๐ ๐ž๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ซ, ๐ฐ๐ž ๐œ๐š๐ง ๐ฆ๐š๐ค๐ž ๐š ๐๐ข๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ž๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž!
